News for April
Mood:

Now Playing: Soul Erosion - 5 of 6
So, I guess now is a good time to let you all in on some of the things going on in the background here at misprint...
1) We're getting ready to start distributing CDs through friends nationwide, if you're interested in being a part of misprint, and live outside of the state of Florida, feel free to drop us a line at misprintATgmailDOTcom.
2) Most of the rumors of a twitch reunion are true...even though some fan knows more about this than I do.
3) Poster Child is getting ready for their mid-April show, come out and support them!
4) Coming soon to a distributor near you. Soon available will be a compilation CD made up of several of the bands on Vagrant and misprint, although it will only be given away at shows...
5) I lke pizza.

oh, one other thing...
Now Playing: thanxforn0thing - Forsake/Forgive
At a recent con, Rob Rinker had a few of thanxforn0thing CDs to hand out. So, somehow, with some wild bit of awesomeness, Lloyd Kaufman of Troma studio fame now has a copy of "Shared and Shed..." What do you mean you've never heard of him? He's one of the greatest independant directors of our time, responsible for classics like "Class of Nuke'em High", the "Toxic Avenger" movies and a shitload of other wonderful films. Heh...sorry...that's cool...

New bands...old sounds...
Now Playing: Poster Child - All Trust Lost
So, I'm sitting here listening to posterchilds two song demo, and I gotta tell ya, I'm impressed. One of the newest bands on the label, we just finished a third rate demo (they needed a coupla hundred copies for thier mid April show) and even if the sound qualities not great...the music is. Kinda a weird cross between Undividual and real old skool Soul Erosion (does any one else remember the tape with the great line "I see someone waving a swastika and I try not to wave my dick" If anyone has a copy, please make me one...). We hope to have it available for download soon. Thanxforn0thing, the greatest band that never plays? Well, it's true, tfn hasn't done much publicly lately, with horrific work schedules and the like, but they aren't wasting time and soon we should have some rough demos from their next CD, tenetively titled "Blood and Honor". It should be a breakaway disc, and from what I've heard...some metal bands are gonna be pissed. Wait till you hear "7.62x39".
Twitch...yeah...that twitch...is getting ready to start rehearsing for the first time in 4 years. Eventually, we hope for a CD and some shows, but it is gonna take a little time.
Another new band has joined the label, and we're looking for a June release date for the debut of "Uncle Joey and the Co-dependants." More on that later...
So, as you can tell, even though we are the brokest label in the history of music, we are working hard to bring it all to you. We've reached a couple of agreements with local labels and friends, and soon we believe that we will be a self sufficient label. We are also looking into becoming a non-profit organization after the experiment to keep the ideal alive.
One last thing...MERCH IS REALLY REALLY ON THE WAY!! We'll have the first misprint stickers available for sale in the first week of May as well as tfn stickers. Poster Child and twitch stickers shouldn't be far behind.
Well, I think that's everything...peace.

MARCH NEWS
Mood:
not sure
Now Playing: Cradle of filth - Her ghost in the fog
This month we're splitting the news up over good and bad...
The Good News ------------- thanxforn0thing's release Shared and Shed is currently out of stock. I know this is surprising to be good news, but it means that our first CD is a success and a reissue is being prepared...
Merch will be available early next month...stickers will be about 1-2 dollars each depending on size. The ordering details will be printed on the site.
Two more bands will soon be recording with us, and we will happily welcome them to our label soon.
Scene support has been incredible, with quite a few people stepping up to assist this ideal, including artists, tech support, and a host of other types...I just wanted to thank everyone who is getting involved in what is becoming an interesting experiment.
The Bad News ------------ Due to the expense of releasing CDs, it has become nessassary to stop burning our own discs. The next several releases may be of lesser packaging quality than our first, but this is a temporary situation that we will rectify ASAP.

...or it shall come back to haunt you.

Now Playing: read below.
Topic: News for this week...
In 2000 - 2001, several bands in Lakeland, Fl, developed massive followings. I don't mean as in millions of people came to their shows...it was still only enough to pack a bar, but they were rabid. The bands all had notorious tastes for violence and destruction that, at times, would cost venue owners hundreds of dollars in replacement equipment and injuries.
One of these bands, quickly became the premiere metal band in the area, before quickly disentegrating. Still people ask for a reunion, or a CD, or something... Well...for you there is some news...finally.
Twitch will be reissuing it's 2 song demo in the next several weeks. It will be released through misprint, and a limited run. Soon other assorted twitch merchandise will be available, including the infamous "birdlogo" sticker, which will finally be made.
All of this to prepare for what may be a reunion...
In Other News ------------- Soon, merchandise will be available on the site. I know, it's slow in coming, but it will be here soon. As always, misprint merch will be available at our bands shows, so come out, enjoy the bands, and support your neighborhood pirate label.
tfn is currently playing shows to support their release of "Shared and Shed". The original pressing is almost gone, so order yours as soon as possible!!! Just send us an email at Misprint@gmail.com, so that we can send you one. Be sure to include your address...thanx a lot.

if you weren't there...you really missed some cool shit
Mood:
celebratory
Now Playing: twitch - breaking the chains(demo)
The CD release party was awesome as you can prolly read in the forum, and I'll put the pics up as soon as possible. Another band has shown interest in the label, and we'll publish more details on that as it comes, but it should be interesting to say the least. Also there's a possibility that twitch may be coming back long enough to record a CD...no details yet, but if it happens, You'll be the first to know...

Topic: New Forum
In additon to the new site and the new banner, we now have a new forum. This is so vistors ,fans(ha!), and Eureka have a place to speak out more freely.
As it stands now there are 3 boards; Bands, to post reviews of bands; General, to post whatever's on you mind; and Shows/ Events, for posting upcoming events/ shows, and to plan them.
Now the forum is free, but to post you must register, also free. The reason for this is to keep spam down. Also by registering you are eligible for future contests, and possibly get to moderate a forum.
Visit the misprint hompage for the link and more info.
